One can use the same technique for pipes and tubing to create struts. However, one may wish for the ends of struts to taper to points to mimic actual pivoting struts. Blender geometry nodes can automate this process, by automatically applying a reduced taper on each end of a strut:

Adding a Decimate modifier set to Planar will automatically reduce duplicate geometry and keep poly counts low.
